◆ This year's theme: Empowered Together
CyberCon Melbourne 2026 runs at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre from 14 to 16 October, with more than 450 sessions across 21 concurrent streams. No one attends more than a fraction of it. Answer three questions and we will map the sessions, rooms and side events worth your time.
CyberNinja at CyberCon
The two sessions cover eight documented AI case studies across two themes. One examines the safeguards that limit the damage. The other examines the accountability gap that allows it. Whatever the planner suggests for you, these are the two rooms we would like to see you in.
Four documented AI incidents each trace back to missing ISO 42001 controls, and this session maps the specific safeguards that would have reduced their impact.
AI features are shipping without clear risk ownership, and this session sets out how ISO 42001 closes the accountability gap teams keep avoiding.
Only a small number of sessions are recorded, and those go to AISA members after the event. Assume both are live only.

Three questions, no signup. The role groups below are AISA's own published audience segments for CyberCon Melbourne, so the starting point matches how the conference is organised.
Plenary Theatre
Twelve named plenary and featured speakers at CyberCon Melbourne 2026. The Plenary Theatre fills early and breakouts usually have room, so book these and improvise around them.
Who you will meet
Two of us are on the floor for all three days. Swapnil is presenting twice; Prathamesh is the person to find if you want to book time with the team.
Swapnil has spent more than 20 years in cyber security across some of the most demanding technical environments, and founded CyberNinja. He is one of a small number of practitioners in the ANZ region actively implementing ISO 42001, helping organisations build AI governance that puts real accountability on AI risk before it becomes a liability.
He speaks globally, teaches as a Red Hat Certified Instructor, and has written two technical books, on Docker and on Kubernetes administration. Both of his CyberCon sessions are in Room 216.
Prathamesh runs growth and go-to-market at CyberNinja. He is on the floor across all three days and handles the conversations that happen away from the stage.
Find him if you want a straight read on where your gaps sit, a walk through what a gap analysis or internal audit involves, or fifteen minutes booked with Swapnil while the calendar still has room.
About CyberNinja
CyberNinja is a Sydney-based GRC consultancy firm. Founded in 2002, we work with startups and scale-ups of every size across Australia and New Zealand.
Most growing companies meet the same wall. An enterprise customer sends a security questionnaire, or an investor asks who owns risk, and the quotes that come back are priced for organisations ten times their size. We built the practice around fixed-fee work so a startup can budget for it and a scale-up can grow into it.
What we do. A gap analysis shows you where you stand against the framework your customers are asking about. An internal audit tests whether the programme holds up, and when we also built or ran the management system, a different consultant independent of that work performs it. Our virtual CISO service gives you ongoing security leadership without a full-time hire.
Frameworks we cover. ISO 27001, ISO 42001, SOC 2, PCI DSS, Essential Eight, IRAP, NIST and HIPAA.
Find us on the floor at CyberCon for a complimentary gap analysis, or start the conversation now. No pitch, just a straight read on where you stand.
